Swepstone Church overlooks miles of country and it’s white tower is a local landmark.
In nearby Newton Burgoland The Belper Arms, originally named “The Shepherd and Sheperdess Inn”, is reputedly the oldest pub in Leicestershire, some parts dating back to c.1290. There is also a Congregational Chapel erected in 1807.
