Ashby Castle   Take an Audio Tour of this impressive ruin of a grand medieval manor house. Explore the secret kitchen tunnel and climb the 24metre-high tower. An English HeritageHeritage property.

Conkers Discovery Centre   Themed around life in a British Woodland. Indoor and Outdoor activities for all, whatever the weather.

Donington Grand Prix Collection   The largest collection of Grand Prix racing cars in the world.

Donington le Heath Manor House   A medieval Manor House with regular events including re-enactments, hands-on activities and temporary exhibitions.

Ferrers Centre For Art and Crafts   Home to 17 craft workshops and The Ferrers Gallery which holds exhibitions throughout the year

Moira Furnace   A real blast from the past. A 19 century blast furnace, canal and barge trips, craft village and country park.

Snibston Discovery Park   Science and Industry displays, Surface Colliery Tours, Train Rides, Fashion Gallery and Country Park, Coalville Audio Tours. Something for everyone come rain or shine.  

Sence Valley Forest Park    A wonderful transformation from opencast mine to wildlife haven, set in 150 acres of woodland, lakes and meadow. Great wildlife watching from the hide.

Ashby Museum     Timeline of Ashby's History in this award winning museum, indexed photographic collection available for consultaion and research. Regular guided walks around the town.

Local Museums and Heritage Centres in North West Leicestershire Our volunteers are passionate people and they’re so proud of their centres. They’ve restored, renovated and revamped quirky old buildings, and designed beautiful interpretive displays. You’ll get a warm welcome from these really nice places where you’ll discover fascinating facts about the area. If you’re researching family history, our archives are just waiting to share their secrets, and the staff are nice and helpful.
