Our Tourist Information Centre in Ashby de la Zouch forms an integral part of the local community and is vital in the promotion of North West Leicestershire to both visitors and residents.

Ashby de la Zouch and the surrounding area lies at the Heart of the flourishing National Forest. Our forest themed Tourist Information Centre is one of the 'Gateways' promoting this area of national importance.

This diverse cultural corner of Leicestershire boasts enormous diversity including, heritage & history, amazing places to visit, miles of hidden nature trails and days out to delight everyone.

New facilities within the centre include Information panels and an innovative touch screen for residents and visitors to find out more about the National Forest and local area.Our facilities are wheelchair friendly with a hearing loop provision.

The project has been funded by East Midlands Tourism and supported by the National Forest Company and Leicester Shire Promotions.

This web site has been developed by The North West Leicestershire Tourism Promotions Board which consists of a wide range of partners including the following:- North West Leicestershire District Council, Leicestershire Promotions Ltd, The National Forest Company, East Midlands Airport plus several visitor attractions and accommodation providers. 

The Board is collectively addressing the key priorities as set out in the Districts Tourism Action Plan for 2009-2010 whilst addressing the needs within the Local Strategic Partnerships’ Community Strategy.

The key priorities are; 

    • To promote the district as a destination of choice for business tourism 
    • To promote the district as a destination of choice for leisure tourism 
    • Drive up the quality of the visitor experience in the district: 
    • To deliver improved intelligence on the tourism industry to all stakeholders Our partners
