Albert Village

Named after Prince Albert, husband of Queen Victoria. The landscape once marred by extensive open cast mining is now transformed by the emerging National forest. The village is home to the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Woodland, 47 acres of newly planted woodland created as a tribute to the late Princess and including a sculpture trail, peace glade and children’s glade.

A clock tower stands at the village crossroads.
